Butylene Glycol ist ein Butandiol, in der Kosmetik meist 1,3-Butandiol. In der INCI steht Butylene Glycol. Propylene Glycol ist das C3-Diol, Propanediol oft 1,3-Propandiol, Pentylene Glycol das C5-Diol, Caprylyl Glycol das C8-Diol – eigene Namen.
