Was ist Propanediol?
1,3-Propandiol, nicht Propylenglycol
Propanediol in der INCI ist Propan-1,3-diol: ein Diol mit Hydroxygruppen an beiden Enden der C3-Kette. Es kann petrochemisch oder aus Glucose fermentiert werden; die Herkunft steht nicht im INCI-Namen.
CosIng führt es als Lösungsmittel, Viskositätsregler und Feuchthaltemittel. Propylene Glycol ist Propan-1,2-diol. Methylpropanediol ist 2-Methylpropan-1,3-diol. Pentylene Glycol ist das C5-Diol. Kein Arzneimittel.
